QLD Department of Natural Resources and Mines
Contractor Services – Streambank Guidelines
Details
Description
The existing Streambank and Riparian Rehabilitation Guidelines for Queensland are out of date. New techniques and technologies have been developed to address streambank erosion and stability. Streambank erosion is a major problem in areas or Queensland and has been identified as a significant cause of sediment detrimentally affecting the Great Barrier Reef. The Department is responsible for the water flowing between the bed and banks of a watercourse under the Water Act 2000. The Department authorises work done on streambanks and funds River Improvement Trusts to undertake riparian rehabilitation and streambank stability work. The guidelines will ensure work done in Queensland will meet the standard required.
