Gayini experienced floods in September 2022 and prolonged inundation (8 months), up to May 2023. The event was declared a Natural Disaster (AGRN 1034) caused by severe weather and flooding and identified as NSW Flooding from 14 September 2022 onwards. This included the two localities of Hay and Balranald, in which Gayini resides.nOnce flood waters receded and access to the infrastructure was possible an engineers assessment of the infrastructure was completed under PROC6277 (CM9 Industry TEND23/30) and fulfilled by Fifteen50 Consulting. The engineers report dated 7th July 2023, recorded the following assets being damaged and requiring repair due to flooding; regulators (10 sites), channels (5 sites) and embankments (13 sites). tnnThe assets are to be reinstated to design standard to ensure they provide their intended level of service. This project is for the project management of the construction construction, including preparation of sourcing documentation and procurement.
