This contract is to:
- undertake an assessment of current economic benefits achieved through Tasmania’s GMO-free stance, and the costs of maintaining that stance;
- develop case studies for two regions that are GMO free and have promoted their GMO free status for at least two years;
- analyse the potential for various Tasmanian primary production sectors to obtain market advantage through investment in GMO-free marketing, specifically or as part of broader Brand promotion; and
- develop measures for monitoring social, environmental and economic values potentially impacted by the Tasmanian GMO-free stance, that could be reported on biennially.
