Description
This EOI has been developed in order to ascertain the interest in, and canvass the range of possibilities relating to the delivery of a Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) and blood-borne virus (BBV) education, training and support project for Western Australian pharmacies. It is intended that the project will work collaboratively with relevant agencies and in consultation with the Department of Health.
Output Deliverables will include but may not be limited to the following:
• Redevelopment, updating, printing and appropriate distribution of the WA NSP Pharmacy Training package as required.
• Provision of a minimum of three training workshops per annum to pharmacy staff in rural areas based on identified gaps and provision of individual pharmacy sessions as identified. Pre and post training evaluation will be conducted to measure process and the short term impact of training delivered with respect to project outcomes.
• Provision of training to pharmacy staff in metropolitan Perth as required and where there is an identified need. Pre and post training evaluation will be conducted to measure process and the short term impact of training delivered with respect to project outcomes.
• Delivery of BBV and NSP information and support to tertiary pharmacy students, pre-registration graduates, and other pharmacy staff training courses as requested or required.
• Development of evaluation strategies to assess the long term impact of pharmacy training.
The period of service provision will be between 1st October 2009 and 30th June 2012.
