Implementation of the Building Tune-ups Project - a building performance improvement program for office buildings in the Adelaide CBD

Building Tune-up Project aims:

• Foster a relationship with building owners and there on – site managers to secure their willingness to participate in this project. Potential partners are to understand that they would be expected to investigate the costs of upgrading base building performance to a minimum three stars on ABGR and that we would be seeking to “unlock” financial incentives for upgrades where projects do not meet owners internal hurdle rates.
• To reduce the greenhouse gas emission and water consumption of ten office buildings in the Adelaide CBD.
• To identify and work to overcome potential barriers to widespread adoption of energy and water efficient processes, practices and technologies in existing CBD office buildings.
• Provide the Green City Program (and Project Partners) with the ability to demonstrate to building owners and accommodation managers that effective energyand water management in office buildings can contribute to reduced operating costs, reduced rental expense and increased building value.
