Description
The Police Air Wing of the Western Australia (WA) Police is an integral part of law enforcement in Western Australia and provides invaluable support to Frontline Officers and other Government Agencies. WA Police are due to accept delivery of a second additional helicopter in the second half of 2011.
The additional helicopter has a requirement to be fitted with a searchlight.
It is anticipated that the benefits of the proposed acquisition will provide WA Police the ability to:
• Maintain search and rescue capability at current level or better;
• Perform Law Enforcement duties; and
• Perform Command and Control duties during major disasters and emergencies.
