Description
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) requires repairs to alternators which are fitted to the Prospector Railcars. There are 20 alternators, 18 fitted to railcars plus two spares, any of which could fail on an ad hoc basis. The alternators were manufactured by Lechmotoren of Germany in 2002 and are designated as model number 43504. They are identified as PTA stock number 206847.
The successful Tenderer will be required to repair the Lechmotoren alternators by dismantling, inspecting, replacing worn parts, rewinding failed windings, and reassembling to return them to a condition where they can operate in service for another five years.
