Description
The AKX Program aims to maximise the number of live donor kidney transplants that can be performed in Australia by identifying biologically compatible donor/recipient pairs. As part of the AKX Program, the services of a tissue typing laboratory that can provide an appropriately experienced and qualified medical scientist (or equivalent) Coordinating Tissue Typing Officer is required. This position will be responsible for the coordination of activities from state based tissue typing laboratories supplying blood type and HLA type from the donor recipient pairs registered in the AKX Program database. Following a cross match data run, the Coordinating Tissue Typing Officer is required to verify matched pairs in the run.
