Registrations of Interest are called for Provision of Throughcare Support Services for Prisoners with Impaired Cognitive Functioning (Bridging the Gap Project)
The Bridging the Gap project has been established to trial a model of specialist pre and post-release support for offenders with impaired cognitive functioning in the prison system.
The goal of the Bridging the Gap Reintegration Support Service is to provide support on a case by case basis to men and women impacted by moderate to severe impaired cognitive functioning who are being released from correctional facilities with a focus on:
„X Re / -habilitation in areas of adaptive behavioural functioning both pre and post-release
„X Facilitating access to specialist disability support services
„X Re / -establishing social supports including housing, alcohol and drug support, legal support, financial and personal support systems as and when necessary.
The Bridging the Gap Pilot Project is funded to provide services to prisoners exiting correctional facilities across the South East Queensland, South West Queensland and Darling Downs regions only.
