Provision of External Security Services to the Secure Mental Health Unit

Correctional Health Services of the Department is seeking proposals from organisations that have demonstrated capacity to provide external security services to a newly designed 35 bed Secure Mental Health Unit to be opened in November 2005. Static security for this facility will include a perimeter fence with manned gatehouse and surveillance equipment. It has been decided that an external private company skilled in this area of security should provide the human services portion of the static security. The Secure Mental Health Unit is located on the Prision Campus in Risdon Vale, Hobart, Tasmania. An on-site Inspection and Industry briefing will be held at the facility on Thursday 26 April 2005 at 9am.
