Description

The main objectives for this source of interest and information are to enable ConocoPhillips to identify suitable suppliers and gather the latest market information on CRA OCTGs that conform to the offshore well specifications identified in the scope of work. Tubulars will need to have a chemical composition with >15% chrome (final expected chrome content still to be determined) to withstand Barossa conditions for 25 years.

Overview

Barossa is an offshore gas and light condensate project being progressed by the Barossa Joint Venture comprising Santos Offshore Pty Ltd (Santos) as Operator and SK E&S Australia Pty Ltd. A Final Investment Decision to proceed with the Project has now been made.

The project will provide a new gas source to the existing Darwin LNG facility, subject to suitable commercial arrangements being put in place. It will backfill the facility once the existing offshore gas supply from the Bayu-Undan offshore field has been exhausted.

Development of the large discovered Barossa resource would extend the operating life of DLNG for an additional 15-20 years, thereby continuing to help meet future global demand for natural gas and contributing significant income and employment opportunities for Australia.

Santos holds a 62.5% operated interest in the joint venture and partner SK E&S (37.5%). Santos is also a joint venture partner and operator in DLNG with a 68.4% interest.

Development Concept

The Barossa field is part of Santos' northern Australia portfolio, one of the company's core long-life natural gas asset regions. It encompasses petroleum permit NT/RL5, which is located in Commonwealth waters 300 kilometres north of Darwin, offshore the Northern Territory.

The project comprises a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility, a subsea production system supporting in-field subsea infrastructure and a gas export pipeline. The FPSO facility will separate the natural gas and condensate extracted from the field with the dry gas transported via the export pipeline for onshore processing

The proposed new gas export pipeline will be ~260 km in length and will connect to the existing Bayu-Undan to Darwin pipeline in Commonwealth waters. Condensate will be exported directly from the FPSO to offtake tankers.

Procurement Approach

The procurement approach for major scopes, such as the FPSO, Subsea, Export Pipeline, and Drilling, will be a combination of Engineering, Procurement, Construction/Installation (EPC/I), leasing or direct contracting, and procurement by Santos.

The facilities will be designed in accordance with the Project's design basis, which includes Company standards and specifications, Australian, ISO, and other international standards and codes, including those broadly adopted in the Australian oil and gas industry, and in line with local industry practice.

Santos has partnered with the Industry Capability Network NT to assist with Australian vendor identification, raise awareness, and communicate opportunities to provide goods and services to the project. Please submit a general expression of interest below to register.
