Description
The Tasmanian Government is seeking to appoint a financial adviser to assist in the evaluation of proposals received from respondents to the Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) in a Strategic Alliance for the Provision of Broadband Telecommunications Services and Facilities document, released on 12 December 2003. The Government's overriding objectives from the REOI are to ensure Tasmania realises the economic and community benefits from new broadband infrastructure by: facilitating a more competitive telecommunications industry structure within Tasmania; and encouraging new investment in broadband telecommunications facilities within Tasmania. A copy of the REOI document can be found at: http://www.treasury.tas.gov.au/telco_infrastructure_reoi. The Government requires the services of a financial adviser capable of providing the services outlined in the Request for Tender, including the capacity to evaluate telecommunications business models and provide high level strategic advice on other financial aspects of the REOI Respondents' submissions and the telecommunications industry more generally. The financial adviser will work closely with the Government's REOI Evaluation Panel.
