Administration of the Community Service Obligation (CSO) Funding Pool

The CSO Funding Pool ensures that arrangements are in place with wholesalers to provide all Australians with ongoing and timely access to Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme Medicines through community pharmacies regardless of location and relative cost of supply.

The CSO Administration Agency has responsibility for, but not limited to:

(a)data management and payments calculations;

(b)operating an online data management system and help desk service for CSO Distributors;

(c)monitoring compliance of each CSO Distributor against CSO Service Standards and CSO Compliance Requirements;

(d)managing a complaints process; and

(e)providing regular reports to the Commonwealth on the administration of the CSO Funding Pool.
