Description
The ACMA is replacing its ageing High Frequency Direction Finding (HFDF) system, which is nearing the end of its serviceable life and requires site preparation and/or remediation works to be undertaken to allow for the installation of new HFDF equipment. It is intended that the installation of the system will commence in 2013 and be completed by June 2015. The ACMA is engaging in a separate procurement process for the equipment, and intends to engage a supplier of the HFDF equipment (“equipment supplier”). The ACMA currently houses its existing HFDF equipment at four sites across Australia:
a)Bullsbrook, Western Australia;
b)Shoal Bay, Northern Territory;
c)Capalaba, Queensland; and
d)Richmond, Tasmania
The site preparation or remediation works will include obtaining necessary council and regulatory permits or licences for the four HFDF sites.
