Dear Tenderers

You are invited to submit a Tender to carry out all works associated with the Gold Coast Fire Ring Main Upgrade, Gold Coast campus, Griffith University.

The primary work scope is to provide a dedicated fire main from a connection to a Gold Coast Water service at Smith Street, the new 225mm diameter main will be constructed primarily along Science Road down to Alumni Place. Science Road is a service road for the campus and will need to remain in operation for delivery and emergency vehicles. Large volumes of pedestrians use the link from the Griffith University Pedestrian Bridge along Multimedia Lane crossing Science Road.

A secondary upgrade, providing a 150mm line from the pump set adjacent to the G13 Multistorey carpark to the G09/G04 external hydrants is also in scope.

Ancillary works including a booster pump and enclosure, minor electrical and BMS works and communications conduits are included.

This fully funded project is being tendered on the open market, to be awarded so that works can be completed in the first quarter of 2021.

Tenders close at 1:00pm on Thursday 3 December 2020 Monday, 7 December 2020, via the QTenders link associated with this project in accordance with the Conditions of Tender. A Tender submitted late or by any other means than that nominated may not be accepted.

Any queries relating to the tender documents including drawings and specifications (if any) shall be submitted via the QTenders link associated with this project. Requests for information (RFI’s) relating to the tender will close on Friday 27th November at 1:00 p.m.

You are required to check that all Tender documents received match those listed on the accompanying Document Transmittal. Confirmation that you have received all the documents listed is to be provided to the Principal by signing a copy of the Transmittal where provided and returning it to the Principal in accordance with the requirements of the General Conditions of Tendering.

It is recommended that you visit the site of the proposed project prior to submitting your Tender, as no additional costs will be approved by the Superintendent or paid by the Principal due to any failure on your part to appreciate the extent of the project and its impact on adjacent buildings or facilities, or to evaluate any constraints on access to the site of the works.

Site inspections with tenderers will take place on Wednesday 18 November, 2020 by appointment only.
