Wodonga Leneva TRES Water Main

North East Water’s master planning in line with future growth forecasts has identified the need to invest in major water infrastructure to support urban development in the Leneva Valley. The infrastructure upgrade will include the construction of water distribution mains and water supply storage under a tier approach with water mains prioritised to support growth in areas currently experiencing land development, follow by water tank construction at a future date to supplement water demand patterns.

North East Water has completed a preliminary design that will be issued as part of an RfT to the open market seeking to engage a Principal Contractor under a design and construct contract to deliver this project. The proposed work include the following:

•Preparation of the future water storage tank site that is located west of Beechworth-Wodonga Road including earthworks, access track, retaining wall and perimeter fencing.

•500m of DN450 trunk watermain at the proposed new water storage tank site.

•1245m of DN450 trunk watermain from Beechworth-Wodonga Road to the intersection of Baranduda Blvd and Martins Road.

•1279m of DN450 of trunk watermain on Frederic Road to Edney Lane.

•905m of DN450 of trunk watermain on Martins Road.

Majority of the trunk water mains will be constructed through undeveloped land. Some sections will require under boring to avoid impact to the surrounding environment, as well as underbore the full pipeline alignment along Frederic Road and Martins Road.
