Description
The Department invites tenders from suitably qualified persons: for appointment by the Treasurer to be the Actuary for the purposes of the Retirement Benefits Act 1993 and the Retirement Benefits Regulations 2005; and to provide other actuarial services to Tasmanian Government agencies and authorities as required. The successful Tenderer will be required to undertake the various functions and duties of the Actuary under the Retirement Benefits Act 1993 and the Retirement Benefits Regulations 2005, including the completion of a triennial investigation into the state and sufficiency of the Retirement Benefits Fund (RBF). The next investigation will commence in the 2010-11 financial year. The successful Tenderer will be required to provide actuarial advice and analysis, on both a regular and periodic basis, for Tasmanian Government agencies and authorities. Advice will primarily be required by the Department and the RBF Board, and will chiefly concern Tasmanian public sector superannuation.
