Provision of Engineering Services at Defence Science & Technology Organisation (DSTO) Melbourne

The DSTO Melbourne (DSTO-M) contract exists to provide Engineering Services to science and technology. It provides for engineering and applied imaging support to the research divisions at DSTO-M and other DSTO sites as required. The main categories of support are:

Mechanical design services including development of designs to establish the feasibility of a concept through to detail design, potentially proceeding to manufacture or development.

Mechanical manufacturing services including components, sub-assemblies and assemblies manufactured to drawings or sketches provided by the Commonwealth Representative or the Contractor. Complete items may be delivered based on a request for design, development and manufacture.

Electronics design services including development of designs to establish the feasibility of a concept through to detail design, potentially proceeding to manufacture or development.

Electronics manufacturing services including items manufactured to a design from drawings or sketches provided by the Commonwealth Representative or the Contractor. Complete items may be delivered based on a request for design, development and manufacture.

Applied imaging and photography services generally conveying complex or novel concepts include video/cine, still and digital items, technical illustrations and videos.

The major clients of the Engineering Services are the four science and technology divisions of DSTO-M:

Air Operations Division

Air Vehicles Division

Human Protection & Performance Division; and

Maritime Platforms Division
