ATM 20/54 Mineral and Synthetic Oils
Details
Description
The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) is seeking to engage a Supplier for the provision of a range of products including (but not limited to) mineral and synthetic oils in support of its operations within Australia, Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.
The AAD operates and maintains a fleet of mobile plant and power generation engines on each of its three Antarctic and one Sub Antarctic stations.
The power generation engines operate constantly throughout the year to provide power and heating to the Antarctic and Sub Antarctic stations. These engines are critical to the infrastructure of the station and provide safe living circumstances for the expeditioners.
Field generators are required to operate outside station limits as per operational requirements such as building and operating Wilkins ice runway during the summer period and during scientific program field operations.
The mobile equipment fleet covers a wide range of assets including (but not limited to) loaders, dozers, specialized over snow equipment and passenger transfer vehicles which are exposed to extreme cold starting and operating conditions.
Maintenance of the mobile fleet is carried out throughout the year with the majority of the major work being completed throughout the winter period.
