Support in the Field of Weapons Lethality for Project Air 6000
Details
Description
DSTO requires support in the field of weapons lethality for project AIR 6000. Support is required for modelling of the lethality of missile warheads against aircraft and missile targets. Support is also required in the conduct of experiments related to the effect of missile warheads on aircraft components. The associated experimental program will inform the accuracy of the modelling exercises.
The broad scope of the program will be, in consultation with DSTO staff:
- Provision of aircraft and missile vulnerability models that are suitable for use with appropriate lethality modelling software.
- Application and development of target detection device models and warhead models, which are suitable for use with appropriate lethality modelling software.
- Use of lethality modelling software, such as XVAM, to generate probability of kill data to support the continued development of Greyscales.
- Assistance in development of a methodology for assessing composite and aluminium target responses to fragment strikes including collection of data on those responses.
- Development of a dry bay to attach to WSD's fuel test cell for use in fire initiation studies.
