Fire Truck Safety Systems

The following information is provided for tenderers’ assistance:
A Business Case has been undertaken by the CFS, on behalf of the Emergency Services Sector, which has resulted in the provision of additional funding to address a shortfall in safety provisions to firefighters exposed to risk of death or injury from burn-overs. This is to be achieved by accelerating the introduction of appropriate safety systems to all required fire trucks within the CFS, MFS and DEWNR.

This tender is to retrofit all dual cab fire trucks with the following safety systems:

- Cabin deluge systems;
- In-cabin breathing systems;
- Cabin window curtains (where required);
- In-cabin pump control;
- Under-cabin heat shields; and
- Tire spray systems.
