Aboriginal Cultural Values Assessment of the 2013 extension area of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area (TWWHA) project

Developing a plan for surveys of Aboriginal cultural sites and landscapes within the 2013 TWWHA extension area, including consultation on the plan; On-ground surveys of Aboriginal cultural sites and landscapes – focusing on the 2013 TWWHA extension area; Consultation with Aboriginal communities (intangibles, stories, connections); Completion of detailed reporting in appropriate media that will be of suitable standard to assist in the deliberations concerning recognition of the Aboriginal cultural values of the entire TWWHA; Delivery of the project must include participation of Tasmanian Aboriginal communities. The Aboriginal Cultural Values Assessment of the 2013 Extension Area of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area (TWWHA) project will plan and deliver an assessment of Aboriginal cultural values in the area of the TWWHA that was added in the 2013 boundary extension. Information gained through this work will then inform future deliberations concerning recognition of the Aboriginal cultural values of the entire TWWHA. The Aboriginal Cultural Values Assessment of the 2013 Extension Area of the TWWHA project will consist of Funding for this project has been provided by the Australian Government. The project is being led by the Tasmanian Aboriginal Heritage Council.
