Request for Expressions of Interest for Mirani Water Recycling Facility Upgrade Project - Design & Construct

~Council wishes to procure the design and construction of the Mirani Water Recycling Facility (Mirani WRF) Upgrade that it proposes to have constructed at the Site.

The Mirani WRF is being upgraded as the existing facility is currently overloaded. In addition to the capacity issues, there is also a lack of redundancy within the treatment process meaning that critical pieces of infrastructure cannot be taken offline for maintenance or repair. The upgrade is to be underpinned by maximising beneficial reuse of treated water. There is sufficient room for the upgrade to be undertaken on the existing site, whilst minimising disruption to the operation of the existing facility during construction. Council intends for sections of the existing WRF which cannot be effectively utilised as part of the upgrade, to be decommissioned and demolished by the Contractor as part of these works.

Environmental and development approval for the Project, by way of a Material Change of Use application to Council, has been submitted and development conditions required by DEHP are anticipated to be available prior to the Request for Tender being released to the shortlisted parties.
