QLD Department of State Development and Infrastructure
Digital Twin Phase 1 - Program Implementation Plan and Proof-of-Concept Development
Details
Description
In 2022, the State Infrastructure Strategy (SIS) recognised the need for a Digital Twin (DTw) to help plan, predict, and understand Queensland’s infrastructure to improve decision making through more effective use of data. In the 2023-24 state budget, funding was approved to develop an SEQ DTw program implementation plan and deliver a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) of the SEQ DTw.
The Department is now seeking a supplier (or suppliers) to provide strategic, economic, financial, commercial, management and technical expertise in order to develop the proof-of-concept (PoC) for the SEQ DTw program. The PoC will be an initial, focused effort to demonstrate technical feasibility while providing a clear pathway to implement the program over the next 1-4 years. It is expected that the PoC and its associated documentation will demonstrate the need for, and the merits of, an SEQ DTw, supporting applications for further funding.
A successful PoC and implementation plan will:
- Indicate the benefits to Brisbane 2032 venues, precincts and transport connections.
- Identify potential risks and how to manage them before broader implementation.
- Communicate the value proposition to senior government stakeholders.
