The Overseas Property Office, as part of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is seeking Registrations of Interest for the selection of a Design Consultant, for the Extension and Refurbishment of the Australian Embassy in Beijing, China. The terms and conditions of the invitation for registration of interest, together with the description of services sought, are set out in the Invitation to Register Interest included in the Briefing Pack referred to below.
Registrations of Interest are invited from suitably qualified firms wishing to participate in this project and who have recent experience in the design and documentation of major construction projects both in Australia and China.
Firms having design and documentation experience and representation in Beijing, and those who have previous experience in designing and documenting similar projects are particularly encouraged to Register Interest.
The Design Consultant will be expected to assemble and manage a team that will develop the project brief in accordance with the approved project scope, develop design concepts, prepare tender and contract documentation, and provide construction and defects phase services to secure the completion of the Chancery extension and refurbishment.
The project will be delivered using a traditional lump sum tender contract. It is envisaged that tenders for the works will be called mid 2008 with works proceeding until end 2010.
