Description

Evaluation and Monitoring SIHI Stream 6 - Phase 2 & 3

The Government's Royalties for Region Program has funded a half-billion dollar investment for Southern Inland Health Initiative Program (SIHI). From 1 July 2011 this enabled commencement of a five year capital works programs and a four year health workforce and health services improvement program. This major undertaking represents the State's single biggest investment in regional health care in WA history.

The WACHS SIHI Stream 6 Phase 2 & 3 Evaluation seeks to demonstrate the success of the initiative by providing evidence of the outputs, outcomes and impacts from both a person and system perspective.

The evaluation will be used to inform:

  • Service sustainability.
  • Continued improvement of Stream 6 management and governance.
  • Future business cases.
  • Future strategic development and planning for programs/projects of a similar nature. The key strategies include age appropriate accommodation, information technologies solutions and training and education.
  • Success of the investment from short, medium and long term perspectives, including the impact on persons and their ability to "age in place".
