Description
The Department of Primary Industries and Water intends to issue, for the remainder of the 2007 commercial abalone quota period, sixteen abalone quota units, each specified on a fishing licence (abalone quota). The Department invites tenders for the issue of these licences and abalone quota units. These licences and abalone quota units will not be renewed nor will they be able to be transferred. An abalone quota unit is equal to one-3500th of the total allowable catch for the commercial abalone fishery for the 2007 quota period. The licences will be issued pursuant to the provisions of S98 of the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995.
