WA Department of Parks and Wildlife
Vehicle Water Deluge Systems
Details
Description
The Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) requires the retro-fitting of a Vehicle Crew Protection System (Water Deluge System) to Isuzu Heavy Duty Trucks (Single Cab) and Gang Trucks (Crew Cab).
This Water Deluge System System is to be installed on approximately eighty (80) vehicles as described above and will comprise strategically positioned, external water deluge sprays operated form within the truck.
Fitment of a Water Deluge System to a truck provides a survivable environment for the crew to occupy the cabin in case of a bushfire burn-over. As such, after fitment, crew members in the cabin will be able to start the fire pump and operate the water sprays.
