Design and Construction of the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour Electrical Upgrade Works

The Department has established the FFBH Electrical Upgrade Project to rectify degrading electrical infrastructure and future-proof the harbour by providing a robust and reliable electrical network and enabling further upgrades to cater for future developments. The design and associated works will consist of: A new 11kV Western Power point of supply (dual intake feeds) located at Sardine Wharf east of the existing intake switchroom.A new intake/main switchroom containing Western Power switchgear and DoT switchgear appropriately segregated and fire rated.Removal of oil-filled switchgear and ancillary equipment in the existing main switchroom from service and disposal.Replacement of all existing HV cables in new conduit and pits run down the west/south-bound lane of Mews Road.New RMUs (ring main unit) located in outdoor enclosures throughout the harbour to connect to existing infrastructure.Installation of a new RMU, transformer and switchboard to service the new main switchroom, existing lighting and toilet block in the Sardine wharf area and the BlueHQ boat lifter tenancy.Replacement of the main LV (low voltage) switchboard at the Mews Road substation (within the Little Creatures tenancy). Existing transformers and LV infrastructure will be retained, with the exception of the LV switchboard in the Mews Road substation. All HV infrastructure will be rated to use 22 kV for any future upgrade of the Western Power supply to the harbour.
