Panel Arrangement for the Provision of Legal Services for the Insurance Commission of Western Australia

The request for Tender is for the provision of legal services to the Insurance Commission.

The provision of legal services is an essential requirement for the Insurance Commission to undertake its operations. The legal panel arrangement will provide legal services for all of the Insurance Commission’s insurance (Motor Injury and Government Insurance) and non-insurance needs. This includes obtaining insurance claims advice, negotiating settlement of claims, defending actions and court litigation. It also includes providing advice on non-claim related matters such as investment advice, contracting, intellectual property, debt recovery, employment and freedom of information requests.

The Insurance Commission is committed to improving claimant outcomes. Panel members will be required to support the Insurance Commission in its objective of improving outcomes for personal injury claimants (people injured in motor vehicle accidents who make a motor injury insurance claim, and government employees injured at work who make a workers’ compensation claim).

The expected outcome of this procurement is for the Insurance Commission to form a panel of suitably qualified legal practitioners who are able to satisfy the Insurance Commission’s requirements and who are able to provide value for money legal services.
