National scheduled courier services

The Department is seeking to engage a single national supplier for courier services that includes without limitation the collection and delivery in respect of internal mailbags, and the collection and lodgement in respect of external mail and parcels, travelling inter-office (metropolitan), intrastate and interstate to nominated locations across the Department’s business and organisational networks.This encompasses all States and Territories and metro and rural areas.

Scheduled courier services will be the only requirement under any Contract awarded as a result of this RFT.

Unscheduled (ad-hoc) courier services, minor freight services and mail sorting and distribution services are not within the scope of this RFT.

Tenderers should note the intended outcome of this RFT as detailed in clause 5.2(a) of Part 1 of this RFT.

The Department’s requirement is for:

(a)Scheduled Courier Services comprising of the collection, secure storage tracking, transporting and delivery of documents, small parcels, bags, and similar items on a scheduled basis (set runs); and

(b)the service to be available on Business Days (ie excluding any respective local or National public holidays or other times as specified by the Department).
