RAAF Base Williamtown Stage 2 Redevelopment

The project comprises 10 discrete project elements, the scope of which is summarised below:

·engineering services upgrades;

·replacement or refurbishment of existing air traffic control tower;

·enhancing the base security and safety access arrangements;

·providing a bulk fuel offload and storage point;

·relocating the current physical fitness centre facilities to a new 'domestic precinct';

·constructing flexible office accommodation to support between 1200-1500 personnel;

·a new combined mess with central kitchen and three separate wings to support the multi use of the three rank groups;

·new airside facilities for 4 Squadron;

·environmental remediation to be undertaken as required on sites proposed for construction activities under this Project; and

·demolitions package.

Tenders will be invited from a short list of entities selected on the basis described in the Invitation to Register Interest document.The National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry and the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, August 2009, apply to this project.

The Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme authorised by the Building and Construction Industry Improvement Act 2005 (Cth) and the Building and Construction Industry Improvement (Accreditation Scheme) Regulations 2005 (Cth) applies to this contract.
