IP Australia is developing an online comprehensive Regional Patent Examination Training (RPET) program.It will commence in 2013. An expected outcome of this program is that patent examination standards in participating offices will be enhanced, leading to the grant of higher quality patents. The RPET curriculum is based on IP Australia’s competency-based training program and focuses on search and examination under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
