NSW Department of Communities and Justice / Prison body scanners for correctional centres - prj_2457

As part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic the Expenditure Review Committee of Cabinet approved CSNSW to purchase up to 70 full body scanners to prevent the introduction of contraband into NSW correctional centres. These scanners will increase CSNSW’s ability to detect contraband on inmates and anyone entering a correctional centre. This will also allow staff to achieve social distancing while providing increased security screening capacity for items of contraband.
