J0087 Joint Health Command Garrison Health Facilities Medium Works Projects RAAF Base Pearce and RAAF Base Townsville
Details
Description
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) healthcare service facilities medium works refurbishment program is required to improve the functionality and clinical effectiveness of two non-compliant health care facilities and bring the sites up to a Defence Estate Quality Management System (DEQMS) compliant health delivery standard to meet current and future base dependencies.
The works program will address current Work Health and Safety (WHS) issues such as smart design, infection control, structural damage, duress and fire systems, inadequate clinical and consultancy workspace and non-compliance with privacy and mandated design requirements.
Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Pearce Dental Centre has approached the end of its useful life and no longer complies with relevant standards relating to the Building Code of Australia (BCA), Defence Manual of Fire Protection Engineering (MFPE) and the Australasian Health Facilities Guidelines (AHFG).
RAAF Base Townsville Medical Centre has long been identified as being deficient and no longer complies with relevant standards relating to the BCA, MFPE and AHFG.
