Construction of the access tracks and drill pads specified in the WUC will facilitate Phase II of the West Canning Basin – Sandfire groundwater investigation drilling program. This investigation will include the installation of groundwater monitoring bores at each of the proposed drill pad locations. The access tracks will be utilised by drilling contractors and employees of the Department for the proposed investigative works. Following completion of the works the tracks will be occasionally used for access to the installed monitoring bores.
WUC shall include the construction of new access tracks to a total of approximately 85 km length, the re-instatement of existing degraded tracks to a total of approximately 110 km, and the clearance of seven (7) areas of 50 m by 50 m dimensions to accommodate drilling operations. All completed access tracks must be 4 m navigable width.
