Construction of a stepped concrete seawall at Sorrento foreshore
Details
Description
A timber sheet pile seawall was constructed at Sorrento foreshore beach over 100 years ago and has been subject to regular maintenance activities. The timber seawall is now failing and it is projected that it will need to be fully replaced within five years. A new stepped concrete seawall has been designed to protect the coastal assets and enhance the foreshore through improving public access to the beach and softening the reflected wave effect in this location. A suitably qualified contractor is sought to systematically deconstruct the old timber paling seawall and construct a new stepped concrete seawall and rock revetment at Sorrento foreshore beach.
