Description

Following recent extreme weather event, including widespread flooding in 2019, the Australian Government provided funding for four new weather radars in Queensland. The Bureau has already delivered three of these Radars at Greenvale and Richmond in North Queensland, and at Taroom in the southwest of the State. The final new radar will be installed near Toowoomba to service the Darling Downs area and is expected to be operational by early 2024.

The Bureau will deliver a new operational S-band Doppler radar facility at a site approximately 35 km north of Toowoomba on Bald Hills Road, Plainby Qld 4355

The Contractor will construct all associated site work including civil, structural, building, mechanical and electrical services infrastructure detailed in the provided drawings and specification documentation to support the new S-band Doppler radar.

At the conclusion of the contract a new, fully operational S-band Doppler radar facility will have been built.
