Description

The Department is seeking Tenders for the management of the NPC Program, including the following Services:

(a) hosting and managing the NPC Program on a Moodle v.3.11 Learning Management System which currently allows free access to recognised institutions and their students. The successful Tenderer will be responsible for all day to day administration and user support, including the provision of platform hosting services, platform administration and maintenance, user administration and maintenance, and content administration and maintenance;

(b) updating modules and providing independent, evidence-based education services on Quality Use of Medicines to support undergraduate prescribers and new Australian prescribers;

(c) improving undergraduate health literacy as it relates to Quality Use of Medicines principles through the modules;

(d) maintaining and/or increasing the portion of medical and MU pharmacy schools participating in the National Prescribing Curriculum Program;

(e) increasing student confidence in prescribing and communicating about medicines through the completion of the modules; and

(f) engaging with relevant peak bodies and participating institutions in the development of modules and their participation in the National Prescribing Curriculum Program.

The National Prescribing Curriculum Program has sophisticated functionality including bespoke prescribing and formulary tools, and direct links for all users to current evidence-based resources such as the Australian Medical Handbook and Therapeutic Guidelines.

Due to this bespoke functionality, the learning modules are not transferable to all learning environments or systems and must be distributed via an approved online shared learning platform.

The shared learning modules use a Shared Learning Platform and Moodle 3.11 or above.

Previously, the Department received these Services from an outgoing service provider which ceased operations on 31 December 2022. The successful Respondent will be required to assume responsibility for the Services during a transition-in phase before the commencement of the Services.
