Description

Within DENR there is the Coorong, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth Program in which sits a project, Meningie Lakefront Habitat Restoration Project. The Meningie Project focuses on restoring habitat along the foreshore of the township of Meningie through the planting of local native plants, bank stabilisation and the naturalisation of drains. There is also a built component of the project that includes an Interpretive Trail comprising a 400m textured concrete path, signage and seating. This infrastructure was built in June 2011.

The project detailed in this Request for Tender is the remaining infrastructure to be built as part of the Meningie Project. The Infrastructure includes two viewing platforms, beach stabilisation seating and a bird hide. The objectives of this infrastructure broadly are; to enhance public enjoyment of the area, increase tourism potential for the area; increase aesthetics, provide educational aids, and complement the natural landscape.
