Research and development of an Action Plan for South Australia's Sheep Industry including investment opportunities for the SA Sheep Industry Fund

PIRSA, at the request of the SA Sheep Advisory Group (SASAG), is seeking tenders for the investigation and delivery of an 'Action Plan' that clearly addresses the following priority areas:

1. A summary profile of the SA sheep industry, including its governance, its issues, the opportunities and its position within the national context. Particular focus should be given to the capabilities and capacities of the production sector in meeting future challenges and capturing opportunities right along the value chain (giving consideration to social, economic and environmental aspects).

2. Identification of key objectives and as a result, priority areas, for investment of the Sheep Industry Fund. This is to include clear reasoning, justification for the priorities as well as how they can be managed in a staged approach over 5-10 years. It should also indicate potential collaborators in specific priority areas.

3. Provide options and/or recommendations regarding appropriate leadership/governance arrangements for overseeing the ongoing development and support to the sheep industry in South Australia (including the benefit of an overarching industry group).

• Addendums to the "Tender Response Template" document (Attachment D) will be accepted if it assists in describing the porposed methodology. Any such addendums must be lodged electronically with your tender response.
• It is anticipated that costs associated with this project will be in the order of $50,000.
