Description

Purchase of contractor services to aerially drop a seed and fertiliser mix over approximately 12,000 hectares in the Lower Lakes for soil stabilisation from April to June 2010. Aerial service providers must have the capacity to develop mini-airstrips close to seed holding locations and provide seed and fertiliser storage options on site. All costs associated with these works, including equipment hire charges are to be included into the price. Preference will be given to contractors local to the lower lakes area or with the ability to use local suppliers.

In the 'Aerial Service Details' section please note that a new section is to been considered;

1.1.a The seed that will be supplied for the Lower Lakes project is: Bevy Cereal Rye (DensityKg/hL 75.0 - approximate figure only)
* The seed has been selected due to its ability to provide a fast growing ground cover, tolerate environmental conditions within the Lower Lakes and stabilise the sand sediment.

1.1 b. The fertiliser that will be supplied for the Lower Lakes project will be pelletised in form. There is currently no specification regarding the actual size of each pellet.

The maps supplied are in DRAFT form, they are not finalised. Final areas and associated hectares requiring application of the seed and fertiliser are still yet to be determined.
