ABOUT GIPPSLAND WATER:
Gippsland Water is a statutory authority created under the Water Act 1989 to manage water and wastewater services within the central Gippsland region.
Gippsland Water is committed to supporting aboriginal peoples within our community and aboriginal businesses operating within our region which includes Gunaikurnai, and Bunurong nations.
Our service area covers over 5,000 square kilometres and stretches from Drouin in the west to Stratford in the east, and from Mirboo North in the south to Rawson and Briagolong in the north.
We supply clean drinking water to 72,000 households and businesses across 39 towns and communities, and wastewater services to more than 64,000 households and businesses across 29 towns and communities.
We maintain a $1 billion infrastructure network which includes more than 2,000 km of water mains, 15 water treatment plants, over 1,700 km of wastewater mains and 14 wastewater treatment plants
In addition to providing water and wastewater services, we have a number of commercial business interests comprising of an agricultural business and an organic waste management facility.
These businesses are an integral part of what we do and provide benefit both to us, our customers, the region and the state.

THE GOODS AND SERVICES:
As explained in detail in Part B - Specification of this tender, Gippsland Water is seeking to appoint an experienced service provider to support Gippsland Water’s management of its water and sewer network maintenance activities.
Reinstatement work involves the provision of labour, materials, third parties, travel, plant and equipment to reinstate nominated work sites resulting from Gippsland Waters’ field network maintenance activities (sewer and water main repair activities) to the required standard.
Typically this work occurs in road reserves and involves the reinstatement of road reserve assets such as sealed road pavement, kerb and gutter, footpaths, vehicular cross-overs, nature strips, brickwork, and removal of spoil (excess clean fill soils, contaminated soils concrete and bitumen).
Reinstatement work is requested on an as needed basis in response to Gippsland Water’s water and sewer asset maintenance activities.
This work is required to be undertaken with specific response targets as defined by Gippsland Water.
This reinstatement work to be provided by the Service Provider, delivers flexibility to Gippsland Water by ensuring works are completed to the required standard with a focus on fixing it correctly first time, in a timely manner, and with no rework. This work is required to be undertaken with specific response targets as defined by the Essential Services Commission (ESC).
TENDERERS ARE URGED TO SUBMIT THEIR LOCAL INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT PLAN (LIDP) TO THE ICN (NETWORK) WELL BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE OF 30 JANUARY 2023 IN ORDER TO MEET THE RETURN DEADLINE FROM THE ICN.
