PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Beachport Boatyard is a facility provided by the State Government and used by the commercial fishing industry to provide a safe hardstand area for their fishing vessels to be cleaned, maintained and stored outside of the southern rock lobster fishing season. The boatyard has a slipway facility that is used to send and retrieve vessels to/from sea that is powered by a hydraulic winch system using wire ropes and pulleys. This project is to upgrade the winch drive system to provide a reliable operation to send and retrieve vessels from the ocean.
