Description
Remove and dispose of hazardous materials from the former Hydrodec waste industry oil recycling facility in Young. The site houses a combined volume of over 125,000 litres of waste oil within more than 2,500 storage containers. Validation testing has confirmed varying concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) compounds within this waste oil. Removal and disposal of this contaminated oil will mitigate highest immediate risk to public safety and the environment. Urgent action is required to address the extremely high risk posed by the site in its current state. An estimate of cost was prepared by Environmental Resource Management Australia Ltd.
