The Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia (DAFWA) requires consultancy services to investigate and report the collective assessment of the agricultural consulting sector on:
• key drivers for profitability, growth and sustainability in farm businesses;
• the key trends in these drivers and their impact on the current and future viability of farm businesses;
• major issues and developments in the value chain beyond the farm gate that are having a significant impact on the profitability of farm businesses;
• major barriers to achieving profitability, growth and sustainability for farm businesses;
• any policy, regulatory or industry structural impediments to industry innovation and progression; and
• key opportunities for the Department of Agriculture and Food to lead action to improve the short and long term success of the Western Australia agricultural production sector.
The Contractor will also collate and summarise changes that would enable the agricultural consultants to add more value to their clients and the sector generally. The findings and recommendations will contribute to the development of policies, programs and projects by the Department of Agriculture and Food to build a progressive, innovative and profitable agricultural sector in Western Australia.
