WA Police are seeking to engage an Independent Medical Consultant (Psychiatrist) to conduct independent medical assessments for the purpose of providing opinion to the Commissioner of Police and his agents.
The engagement of an Independent Medical Consultant was a significant part of the overall agency strategic direction as indicated in the 2009 – 2010 Western Australia Police Business Plan and other relevant employees’ management strategies. The requirement of the Independent Medical Consultant will be to assist WA Police to manage its human resources in a most efficient way, in particular contributing in case management of employees who are absent from work on sick leave, providing independent written opinion in regards to matters concerning fitness for duty, assessing employee’s suitability for medical retirement or assisting with employee health and well being issues relevant to the employee/employer relationship.
This is not a treatment role.
The preferred option of WA Police is to award the Contract arising from this Request to a single service provider.
