Description

The Department of Human Services (DHS) requires the supply and loan of commonly prescribed equipment items for people funded by the DHS Equipment Program (EP) in the greater Adelaide region.

The Lifetime Support Authority (LSA) also requires the supply and loan of commonly prescribed equipment and consumable items for its participants who may be injured due to a motor vehicle accident.

For both DHS and LSA, the core (mandatory) scope of services includes:

  • Short- and long-term rental, and optional purchase of commonly prescribed items
  • Purchase of consumable items;
  • Delivery of purchase and loan items to client’s house and instruction/training on usage, in greater Adelaide region;
  • Maintenance and repair of loan items; and
  • Dismantling and collection of loan items no longer required by clients in the greater Adelaide region.

DHS and the LSA require a broad range of commonly prescribed items and consumable items for their clients/participants, under the following categories:

  • Bath Aids;
  • Bedside Commode Chairs;
  • Mobility Shower Commode;
  • Shower Chairs and Stools;
  • Toileting Aids;
  • Bed Mobility and Accessories;
  • Beds;
  • Chairs/Seating;
  • Activities of Daily Living and Household Items;
  • Continence;
  • Hoists and Stand Aids;
  • Mobility Aids; and
  • Pressure Care/Cushions/Mattresses.

Expression of Interest (Optional Services)

In addition to the core (mandatory) scope, suppliers will be able to express their interest in providing the following optional components:

  • Provision of rental, delivery and pick up services for commonly prescribed equipment in remote and regional South Australia; and
  • An asset management service of the department's pool of customised equipment items (e.g. wheelchairs and scooters), including asset tracking, repairs, collections, cleaning, warehousing, and reissue.
