These ESS Kits are required in current FY for 4 new sites dedicated for aircraft use due to the Aerial P25 project identifying an issue where emergency services aircrafts have line‑of‑sight to a large number of ground‑based Public Safety Network (PSN) radio sites, which is interpreted as interference the network. This issue impacts all ESO’s that operate aircraft, suchas, Police, Ambulance, Rural Fire Services, and NSW Parks.
