Description

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requires the Public Transport Authority (PTA) to upgrade public transport facilities to ensure they are accessible for all users and in particular for those members of the community with special access needs.
The Disability Access for Intermediate Stations Stage 2 program has identified several stations to be upgraded over eight years as a rolling program. Completion of the DDA program is targeted for June 2017.
Various stations have been already been completed and several more are planned. Queens Park and Maddington train station upgrades are on the program to progress to construction with works commencing late August 2012. The target completion date for these building works is May 2013.
